ILO: Global Employment Trends report

ILO published its annual Global Employment Trends report, highlighting that unemployment continues to grow and that youth now make up half of those out of work. Young people between 15 and 24 years old are more than three times as likely as adults to be out of work. The ILO called this figure "troublesome", given that youth make up only 25 per cent of the working-age population. For more information, see www.ilo.org/public/english/bureau/inf/pr/2006/1.htm.

Youth workshop-conference

This project is a great opportunity for youth and leaders worldwide to help support youth initiatives and environmental projects in Africa and to support equal representation for youth from the global south at the next COP/MOP in Nairobi. If you were in Montreal you will remember that equal representation among youth from the global south and the global north was a critical concern that needs to be addressed for future COP/MOPS. This project is a great way to make sure that happens.
