Northern Yukon Ecological Knowledge Co-op

The Second Annual Gathering of the Northern Yukon Ecological Knowledge Co-operative took place on March 18 and 19, 1997 in Whitehorse, Yukon. The main focus of the gathering was to review of the progress that had been made over the past year and develop action plans for the following year.

An important topic of discussion was the community monitoring project. Results from the pilot project were presented and plans were developed for further development of the program.

Participants also addressed issues concerning individual indicators that had been selected to be monitored by the Co-operative, and tested out the newly developed web site.

The gathering generated much important discussion and gave the Ecological Knowledge Co-operative a positive launch into its third year.
