Temperature trends

This graph uses the regional mean temperature data set, looked at seasonally. The data set is built on long-term Yukon and Northern British Columbia records (data from the Atmospheric Environment Program in Downsview). The side axis shows departures from the 1951-80 average.

The annual means (not shown here) and the summer temperatures (top graph) show slight but significant increases since the beginning of the century , using linear regression. The winter temperatures are an order of magnitude more variable than the summer temperatures and show no long-term trend. Most recent winters, however, have tended to be warmer than average.
