Land Cover
We need to identify the different vegetation types in the Old Crow Flats so that we can predict which types are more sensitive to melting permafrost and how that might affect the wildlife that depend on these habitats.

This land cover map of the Old Crow Flats was obtained by using a computer to classify a Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper image obtained on July 27 1994. Note this image covers only the area north of the town of Old Crow. The legend (CLASS-CM) explains the colours.
